Chiropractic at Teamworks
Chiropractic doctors are primary contact healthcare professionals trained to assess, diagnose and treat neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Chiropractors hold at least 7 years of post-secondary education, with over 4500 hours of academic and clinical education in courses such as biochemistry, neuro-anatomy, biomechanics, microbiology, radiology, and exercise physiology and rehabilitation. The Chiropractic Doctors at Teamworks utilize treatment methods that are extremely diverse, including manual therapy joint procedures (spinal manipulation, Activator method), soft tissue injury techniques (Active Release Techniques, Graston Technique), Neuro-proprioceptive taping (Kinesiology Tape), electrotherapeutic modalities and specific rehabilitation exercises. Spinal manipulative therapy (also known as an adjustment) is a non-invasive, manual procedure that utilizes the highly refined skills developed through four years of intensive chiropractic education. An adjustment is a carefully controlled and precise movement delivered by a skilled practitioner to dysfunctional joints, restoring proper joint motion and enhancing joint function.
